Priority Registration Available for Parents

 

The new California law (AB 2881) supports parenting college students. The law will provide priority registration for student parents who have children under the age of 18 who receive more than half of their support from the student.

Student Parents can submit the Request for Student Parents Priority Registration Form. This form must be submitted EACH term in order to maintain priority one registration. Forms submitted less than one week before the start of priority one registration cannot be guaranteed to be processed in time for priority registration. The WIC program provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk.

Sonoma 4Cs – Sonoma County Resource and Referral (PDF)

Provides child care provider referrals to center-based programs and licensed child care homes in Sonoma County to families with children 0-12 years old. They also provide consumer education on choosing child care. Information about community resource and financial assistance options, including a Childcare Eligibility List for voucher and participating subsidized center programs. Services are confidential and no-cost to the public.

4Cs Sonoma County’s Wright Start Preschool is located on the Roseland Campus and provides subsidized child care to children 2, 3, and 4 years of age, prioritizing enrollment for SRJC students. For more information, please call 707-544-3077 or visit sonoma4cs.org.

SRJC Children's Center is located in the Robert A. Call Child Development Center on the Santa Rosa Campus. The Children's Center provides subsidized child care for SRJC students. The center provides care for children from 6 months to 5 years of age.

The program is child-centered and offers a play-oriented approach to learning in a safe and nurturing environment. The center staff are highly qualified and certificated professionals in Early Childhood Education. The Children's Center serves as an observational and model training site for the training of Child Development students.
